In a time when anti-feminist and racist rhetoric are becoming increasingly normalized, particularly in education settings, understanding and confronting these twin barriers is more urgent than ever. Join us for a powerful conversation with educators, authors, and co-founders of the award-winning platform Everyday Racism, Natalie and Naomi Evans, as they explore how we can support young people and each other through small, everyday actions that collectively drive change. About our speakers Naomi and Natalie Evans Everyday Racism is the largest anti-racism platform in the UK, led by award-winning activists, authors and educators, Naomi and Natalie Evans. Having gained over 200k followers on Instagram, the online platform has taken the industry by storm over recent years and utilised by individuals around the world. Authors of The Mixed-Race Experience ( square peg 2022) and Everyday Action, Everyday Change ( Hachette 2023) their specialist knowledge and experiences are valued throughout the community by people facing racial inequalities. The Evans sisters’ achievements were recognised in 2022 whilst receiving the ‘Influencer of the Year’ award in the ethnicity awards and ‘Changemakers of Year’ in the 2024 BCreator awards. Their work has appeared in articles in Red Magazine, Grazia Magazine, and the newspaper. They are currently leading a national campaign called “Take It Seriously" to see legislative measures to urgently address racism in schools. Anum Qaisar Member of Fawcett Society board of Trustees, Anum is a former Member of Parliament with interests in communication and public affairs, international development, diversity and inclusion, and working for a better future for women and girls.She has sat on the Women and Equalities Committee, and prior to this was on the Health and Social Care Committee. In December 2021 Anum was appointed to SNP frontbench Deputy Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade.In August 2023 she was appointed as SNP Levelling Up Spokesperson by Stephen Flynn MP, and sat on the Scottish Affairs Committee.
